CHIROPRACTIC BIOPHYSICS

We take spinal and posture correction and health restoration to a whole new level, especially for those who are wanting long term resolutions. Align 4 Life is a fully equipped Chiropractic Biophysics Rehabilitation centre, one of only five in Europe.

Chiropractic BioPhysics®, or CBP®, is, in short, a higher level of chiropractic. It has more published papers in peer-reviewed indexed journals than all other techniques combined. It is a more knowledgeable, comprehensive, systematic, scientific approach to chiropractic that provides predictable results for clients and contributes to building a more stable and successful chiropractic practice. Support for this claim includes a considerable amount of data from research, the experience of numerous flourishing CBP® practitioners, and the longevity of the approach.

CBP® combines standard chiropractic joint adjustments with mirror image® (opposite position) postural adjustments, mirror image® spinal/postural exercise, and mirror-image® spinal remodelling traction to provide more permanent relief and improved health for clients through spine and postural correction.

Clinical Biomechanics of Posture® is focused on producing improved posture, balance, spinal alignment and restoration of essential spinal curves. Clinical Biomechanics of Posture® helps produce optimal posture and spinal alignment. As your spine assumes a more competent relationship with gravity, symptoms diminish and health can return.

CORRECTIVE CARE PROTOCOL

After symptomatic relief, patients are offered the option to pursue Corrective Care. This is where dramatic, longer-lasting spinal changes are made. This is done through a specific protocol of adjustments, traction and exercise.

  • Adjustments help restore segmental integrity to the spine, decrease abnormal weight distribution and avoid spinal degeneration.

  • Traction delivers a constant force to help retrain and remodel the spine to counter the effects of long-standing postural distortions.

  • Exercises, designed for each patient’s particular spinal abnormality, are used to strengthen weaker areas of the spine.

Being a classic skeptic I would never have believed 15 years ago that many health conditions could be helped, and in many cases overcome, by improving spine and nervous system function, diet, exercise, and right thinking. However, witnessing miraculous changes in the lives of many of my clients eventually convinced me this was true!

I was suffering with low back pain and it was preventing me from being able to compete in the sports I loved. I grew afraid that I would never be able to play competitive sport again because all the medical specialists could not figure out what was wrong with me.

I will start by telling you that I have always wanted to dedicate my life to helping others find/ discover hope; to promote healthy living and provide a service that was concerned with maintaining well-being. As a boy I suffered from Tension-type headaches, something that was severe enough to affect daily living and enough to make me seek out professional help.

Chiropractic Education

I graduated from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). I received a distinction for my dissertation on Tension-Type Headaches. After university I started my own practice which operated out of Johannesburg for three and a half years.

M.Tech. Chiropractic (Doctor of Chiropractic)

My initial interest in and passion for chiropractic began over a decade ago after witnessing the impact and transformative effects chiropractic treatment had on my brother’s life, years after being involved in a serious motorbike accident. At this point, I decided to visit a Chiropractor myself, to experience the chiropractic miracles I had witnessed and I received care that helped me in so many ways.

Chiropractic Education

Drawing from my background as a sports therapist, I made the decision to pursue my passion and began full-time studies at the esteemed Durban University of Technology in South Africa.

M. Tech. Chiro (Cum Laude) (Doctor of Chiropractic)

Hi, I am Dr Yvette. I was born and raised in South Africa.

I've always aspired to pursue a career as a medical practitioner one day! I am a creative individual with a deep appreciation for fine details and the beauty of creation. My journey began with studying Fine Arts, after which I transitioned to Jewellery Design and Manufacture, working as a goldsmith for several years.

We had a family friend who was a chiropractor. My mom received frequent treatments, which significantly improved her mobility and quality of life. This was my introduction to the miracles of chiropractic care and where my passion for it began! My daily motivation is to reach out to my patients and help them attain their health goals through natural healing. There is no greater joy than seeing the effect of chiropractic treatment in the resilience of the human body by unlocking its full potential!

Dr Rudi Kuschke

M. Tech. Chiro (Doctor of Chiropractic)

Pursuing a medical career has always been my interest since school, however, pursuing a sporting career after school in both athletics and rugby sent me on a different trajectory.  I was introduced to chiropractic care more than 18 years ago.  Being a professional athlete at the time, my body had to always be in peak physical condition.

Proper and continuous chiropractic care provided immeasurable value to my career, especially with conditioning and rehabilitation after injury.  After reaching the pinnacle of my career by qualifying for the Olympic games I decided to change my field of study from sports science to chiropractic, and by doing so helping others to achieve their goals and dreams.  Being in practice for many years, I have seen and treated a multitude of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, and I am still amazed at how chiropractic can alter and improve people’s quality of life!

Steph Burton

Chiropractic Assistant

I joined Align 4 Life Isle of Man in September 2020. Prior to working here I had no experience of chiropractic treatment but was very keen to learn as I have always followed a healthy lifestyle. I believe we should strive for wellness rather than treating sickness.

I have always been physically fit until I slipped a disc in 2005. After this I was unable to do the sports I used to so starting walking. I was introduced to race walking and went on to complete the Parish Walk 9 times. This is an 85 mile walk around the Isle of Man which has to be
completed within 24 hours.

In 2022 I decided to try my hand at triathlons. I have now retired from competitive race walking and compete in Isle of Man and UK sprint triathlons.

I previously worked in Information Technology, Finance and Payroll Administration. I am excited
to have found a career which incorporates my love of health, wellness and fitness.

Chiropractic Assistant

I relocated to the Island two years ago from South Africa with my husband and family. If I am honest, I have always been a little sceptical about Chiropractors, hearing mixed reports from those who had received ‘traditional’ treatment. I discovered Align 4 Life when my husband needed care. After years of back pain, it was incredible to see the change in his back and general health. I then received treatment myself and have been genuinely amazed by the results. I used to suffer from debilitating migraines, which I now have not experienced in over nine months since having treatment. I have more energy, sleep better, and am migraine free!

Since working at Align 4 Life, it has been amazing to see how clients’ lives have been turned around through advanced Chiropractic BioPhysics. Although I’m not directly involved in patient care, it is a privilege to support them in their journey to health and work alongside a great team of Doctors and Rehab Technicians.

I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to join Align 4 Life, diving deeper into the world of holistic health and witnessing the life changing transformation in our clients lives as we support them to take their health into their own hands.

Having grown up with various allergies and eczema, I was forced to look at alternative treatments and therapies when the options offered by allopathic medicine didn’t work. I found that the treatments offered only addressed the symptom and never the root cause. Whilst travelling in India, I was introduced to ayurvedic medicine and it’s healing properties and it set me on a journey of discovery into the world of functional and natural medicine and on a personal journey of health and wellness over the past 12 years.

Rehab Technician

I joined the Align 4 Life team as a rehabilitation technician mid-August so we thought it was time I properly introduced myself!

As some of you already know I love to keep active and can be found either lifting weights at the gym or out walking in the hills with my hiking group the Manx Young Ramblers. I also enjoy pole fitness, yoga and cold water dipping alongside deep breathing exercises such as the Wim Hoff Method. Relaxation is just as important to me so I finish off the week with a well deserved sauna session, which is the perfect place to meditate and ground yourself after a busy week.

One of my other big joys in life is cooking wholesome, nutritious food. I get great satisfaction from serving people delicious recipes and proving that a healthy lifestyle doesn’t need to be bland! After 8 wonderful years in the hospitality industry, I decided to pursue a career which focused even more on improving the wellness of other people, so it was a dream come true when I became part of the team here at Align 4 Life.

I joined Dr Neil Thompson (Doctor of Chiropractic) at Align 4 Life in March 2010 and it was only then that I was introduced and truly understood the philosophy of chiropractic.

My mum had visited a chiropractor several years ago and I always thought the purpose of her visits were ‘to get her back clicked!’ However, it was only when meeting Neil and I began working at Align 4 Life that I was educated about the true power of chiropractic.

I am passionate about health, fitness and human anatomy and it was after listening to the spinal presentation given by Neil, that everything I have learned and studied over the years, started to really make sense and connect with chiropractic. I have always known how amazing and capable the human body is and learning the natural, holistic approach chiropractic has, I could finally see the foundations needed to attain true optimal health.

I joined the rehab team at Align 4 Life in September 2021 after being intrigued by Chiropractic Biophysics.

For over 20 years, my background has been in the health and fitness sector, starting out as a Gym Instructor, Personal Trainer and Gym Manager. I have also taught and assessed new personal trainers within the fitness industry for the past ten years. After becoming a mum myself, I retrained as a Pre and Postnatal Women’s Wellness Coach, where I further developed my knowledge of anatomy, physiology and psychology.

I have always had a passion for helping people improve their lives through health, wellness, nutrition, and the power of the mind. Since joining Align 4 Life, I have noticed how chiropractic biophysics follows all the principles I have learned over the years. I am very excited to help others achieve their health and wellness goals, and I am proud to be working with such a fantastic team.

Grant Wilkins

Doctor of Chiropractic

My passion for chiropractic began when I was a teenager. Chiropractic care prevented me from having to undergo shoulder surgery at a young age. After a successful career in finance, I found my way back to healthcare and have never looked back!

Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Chiropractic from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, where I received a distinction for my clinical report on headache management. I also hold an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of South Africa, which has given me a deep understanding of the brain-body connection.

My Philosophy

My passion lies in posture correction and re-establishing the crucial brain-body connection to help my patients achieve optimal health and well-being. I believe in a shared-value model of care. True healing takes time, energy, and commitment from both the practitioner and the patient. My goal is to build a partnership with each of my patients, upholding these three pillars to facilitate genuine healing and optimal wellness.

Life Outside Align 4 Life

Family is the most important thing to me.

Doctor of Chiropractic

My Journey into Chiropractic Care
My journey into chiropractic care began as a teenager when I experienced severe back pain and frequent migraines. After visiting a chiropractor, I discovered I had scoliosis—a revelation that changed my life. The care I received not only alleviated my pain but also inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic, knowing firsthand how transformative it can be. I wanted to help others the way I was helped, offering relief and improving quality of life through personalised, evidence-based care.

Chiropractic Education
I graduated at the top of my class with a First-Class Honours Master's in Chiropractic from London South Bank University, where I received an academic award for my achievements. This strong educational foundation has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care, and I continue to build on my expertise through ongoing professional development. To expand my clinical experience, I pursued additional training in paediatrics and prenatal chiropractic care, earning a Paediatric Chiropractic Certificate of Proficiency through The Paediatric Experience's program accredited by Life University.

Dr Jessica Anne Fussell

Doctor Of Chiropractic

MTech Chiropractic

I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and always knew that I wanted to help people in some way. At school I participated in a multitude of sports from tennis to athletics to hockey to eventually finding my absolute passion in rowing. An unfortunate injury to my back at the age of 16 kept me away from my sports for what felt like eternity and no matter what types of therapies we tried, nothing seemed to make any impactful difference. It was only after I started seeing a chiropractor that I was not only able to return to my sports and perform at an even higher level, but this experience cemented my decision to become a chiropractor.

Chiropractic Education

I studied chiropractic at the University of Johannesburg and after completing the six-year Masters’ degree, I qualified in 2017.  I opened and ran my own successful family practice in Sandton, Johannesburg until I moved to the UK in January 2022. I was introduced to Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) while I was working in a clinic in Reading and not long after went over to Idaho in the United States to complete my CBP basic certification. CBP has completely opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that can be achieved for patients while under chiropractic care.

I joined the team at Align 4 Life Sevenoaks in June 2024 and I'm really excited to begin contributing to the success of the clinic and supporting the wonderful work of the team in helping our clients rebuild their health and wellbeing.

Physical and mental wellbeing has always been a focus for me, both in my own life following a number of injuries and in my previous roles. I enjoy keeping fit and it's an integral part of my life, with regular trips to the gym, boxfit classes, pilates and yoga sessions. I also love getting outside with my husband Olly and young son  Harry - it's fantastic to see Harry build new skills and have new experiences, whether that's helping him learn to ride a bike, playing football together in the garden or going for a walk at a National Trust site - Wakehurst is a particular favourite of ours.

I'm really looking forward to learning more about Chiropractic BioPhysics and supporting our clients in their journey to improved health.

I was born and raised in sunny South Africa and moved to the UK in early 2022. I have always had a love for the outdoors and sport, having played water polo throughout my schooling career. I was first introduced to chiropractic after having suffered with migraines for most of my teenage years. After a successful career in finance I decided a career change was in order after having been through a life changing event. In early 2023 I enrolled with the McTimoney College of Chiropractic to start my studies towards being a chiropractor.

Over the past two and a half years I have worked in a CBP clinic, gaining a vast amount of knowledge on this highly successful technique, I have also attended the CBP basic training for Chiropractic Assistants in Idaho (USA) My passion lies within healthcare and being able to help those in need.

To me, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a patient smile again after having achieved their goals. Having a positive impact on people by helping them change their lives gives me a sense of
fulfilment. I am a firm believer that the body can heal itself if the nervous system is functioning at its optimum. Life outside Align 4 Life - you will find me spending quality time with my family, gyming, going for runs and walking my English bulldogs.

I am truly excited to be joining Align 4 Life Sevenoaks as a Chiropractic Assistant and Rehabilitation Technician. My journey in health and fitness began with a genuine passion for understanding how the body works and how we can optimize its performance. Through earning multiple fitness and health-related certifications, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of the body’s mechanics and the interconnectedness of physical well-being. I’ve always believed in a holistic approach to health, and Align 4 Life’s philosophy perfectly aligns with my own values. Chiropractic Assistant and Rehab Technician

My passion for healthcare and rehabilitation stems from my background in sport and exercise science at university, as well as my lifelong involvement with sports. Growing up, I was always active, with football being my main sport. This passion for fitness and well-being has shaped my interest in helping others achieve their health goals. Although I haven't got much experience in chiropractic care, the science behind it fascinates me, especially its role in optimizing movement and overall health. Through my own experience dealing with an ongoing knee issue following an ACL and meniscus rupture, I have gained a deep appreciation for the importance of rehabilitation, injury prevention, and structured recovery. Managing this injury has given me firsthand insight into the challenges of long-term rehabilitation and the value of a patient-centred approach to care.

Fitness and well-being are big parts of my lifestyle. I love going to the gym, staying active, and continuously learning about new ways to improve health and performance. Outside of work, you’ll often find me spending quality time with friends and family, going to the gym or (attempting) to keep up with playing musical instruments!
I am excited to be part of the Align 4 Life team and look forward to supporting our patients as they work towards better health!

I’m excited to have joined the Align 4 Life team, where I can combine my passion for helping others with my interest in physiology and wellness. I’ve always been curious about how the human body works and how we can optimize our health, this curiosity led me to complete a degree in Biology, which deepened my understanding of the body’s intricate systems. I’m passionate about addressing the root causes of health issues, and Align 4 Life perfectly shares this philosophy.

Before joining the clinic, I worked in customer service and the wellbeing sector, where I gained valuable experience supporting people in their health journeys. I’m excited to be part of a team that empowers individuals to take control of their health, and I’m thrilled by the holistic, evidence-based approach to care provided here. It’s fantastic to help our clients address the underlying causes of health issues, and optimize their overall health.

I look forward to contributing to our clients' success and helping them achieve their full potential. It’s an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that provides exceptional care and supports people in their journey toward lasting wellness.
